Big fan of how the Ayame/Rei relationship evolves in -2+2
#or should i say devolve? it got worse-#it's easy to miss because Ayame is in the story for so little time. but from her lines right before the Kinjo cult goes after Kizuna#it seems like Ayame genuinely thinks Rei hates them#so pair that with her being around for longer and also a POV character and you get her becoming#increasingly more done with Rei's antics. while Rei herself barely gives a shit about it#i'm having fun writing this chapter even if it's taking a while and my motivation is getting low#dra#danganronpa another#dra -2+2#rei mekaru#ayame hatano#hyena scribbles

how this fic planning is going is
well
i got an idea for one of the arc’s for the kids
for any liberta fans i’m so sorry (i’m not really)
BUT I COME WITH HEADCANONS FT FORBIDDEN FAMILY + EXTRAS, Debate Nights Flavor~:
- During holidays, the family often heads towards either Saltwater Town to visit Kadrin or Oakenfell to visit Leofric and Lavatune
- This does not stop Debate Night from happening
- Leofric has taken to not involving himself much in the Infamous Debate Nights
- Due to one incident where he joined and ended up, hilariously, getting angry at his opponent for that round: Gavus
- They were debating on if Black and White could or could not be considered colors, Gavus took the stance that they could while Leofric took the stance that they couldn’t.
- proceed: they somehow veered into the different symbolisms of Black and White and which symbolism is ultimately the correct one, leading back into if they were colors or not, and then heading into Leofric put the chair down
- Debate night can get pretty heated
- At some point the siblings were pitted against each other during an extended family debate night
- And from there it was a secondary debate on who would win
- Featuring team Liberta consisting of Gavus and Leofric, holding a momentary truce because they think he’ll argue his point best
- and Team Lucilla consisting of Eugene and Lavatune, who are simply just counting Lucilla not threatening violence to be a win
- Nobody actually wins btw they just go at it until they’re pretty sure they lost the plot
- Another infamous incident actually is between Kadrin and Eugene, a debate that went on for nearly 18 weeks excluding breaks in between and how long it takes for letters to get from the Eugavus Family Home to Saltwater Town.
- Nobody lets either of them down about this. It is always brought up as the longest record standing debate.
- Eugene is proud of it, Kadrin isn’t sure how it happened
- Lavatune’s involvement comes at he prefers to jump in when it’s funny
- He’ll support the side that’s making him laugh the most
- There are some topics he gets passionate about, though, and when he’s up to bat, then the only people that can contend are Leofric, Gavus and Maybe Eugene depending on how much Eugene remembers of the topic
- Liberta and Lucilla get a Free Show during these nights
That’s all for now, I just wanted to build on my silly debate nights hc
#afk arena#afk lucilla#afk eugene#afk liberta#afk gavus#afk lavatune#afk leofric#afk kadrin#i feel like i should say: all of this is taking place like when you get into a joke argument#i think it is much funnier if leofric had went to go sit in a chair and someone mistook him for wanting to throw it#hence the debate devolving into multiple leofric put the chair down’s#i’m not holding the chair.#LEOFRIC PUT IT DOWN.#i’m not holding it.#i can hold it if you keep this up. but i’m not right now.

ive seen ppl saying smth in the wider plagiarism discussion to the tune of "don't worry anxious people, it's impossible to accidentally plagiarize!" and i feel like that lacks a lot of nuance that anxious brains like mine latch on to to just dismiss the possibility outright, as well as a lack of life experiences fueling it.
it is possible to "accidentally plagiarize" in that you can read something, forget about it, then a while later have your brain spit the ideas back out without telling where it got them. so of course you just assume they're yours and share them as such, because That's Where Most Of The Thoughts In Your Head Come From! and it both is and isn't plagiarism, you weren't /intending/ to pass someone's else's work off as your own, i'd even say in a way you were just as much a victim of misinformation as your audience. but you very much so did still resuse the work of someone else, even if you don't remember it.
but in my experience, this kind of thing also happens to a lot of people. you tell a friend a joke then wake up in a cold sweat two days later realizing the reason they didnt laugh was because they'd told you that joke a month ago. you reply to a friend's text and after sending you realized you ended it with the same exact phrase as theirs. you're writing edgy poetry and write a line you really like only to see it in a text post two days later saying youve already liked the post. like, it happens. so if it DOES happens and you're just honest and explain, people will understand. something like "oh shit im sorry, i totally have read that, i mustve forgotten and only remembered bits and pieces and just thought they were mine. thank you for letting me know and for the source" works wonders.
people know you can forget things. people won't automatically doubt your apology just because all true plagiarists say it was accidental. HOPEFULLY people can understand the nuance between a genuine remorseful explanation, and a thief who hoped no one would find out scrambling for excuses for why they did it. and those who can't, that's a them problem, not a you problem, you've taken responsibility for your actions as much as you can. they think the answer is simple, that the only thing stopping you from saying "yes i did it on purpose, i knew the whole time and deliberately copied them" is shame/inability to admit to your actions. but sometimes things AREN'T that simple, so imo ppl who are shitty to you for not following the script they made up for you in their head should be ignored
#youre allowed to make up scripts for people in fact good luck stopping yourself since thats kinda just part of how conversation works#is you try to predict how your audience will react to a certain statement#and my therapist actually encouraged me to practice run stuff i wanna talk about in sessions because That Makes It Easier To Talk About#like who cares if it's rehearsed‚ it's still the truth‚ yknow?#however that only applies to the things /you/ want to say. you are the only one aware of this script and the only one who agreed to it in#the first place which is why you plan contingencies into the script#is because you only have control over one character and can only take guesses at what the others might say#if you guess wrong and they do something different that doesnt mean /theyre/ not following the script#it means /your/ copy was a misprint and you filled in the blanks wrong. so do what good actors do and improvise. you'll get back on script#eventually. or not‚ if your guesses devolved into wildly speculative fanfiction‚ but frankly you knew going into it that#most of your script was guesswork so you should be prepared to have to make some things up on the fly#or see again: prepare contingencies#if your guesswork on your copy of the script turns out to be wrong‚ wouldnt it be sooo handy to have a second copy which follows this#version of events much better?#and if not that one‚ maybe this third? how about this fourth? etc etc etc#but really just. when guessing at what others will say. know that you are guessing and dont hold it against /them/ if youre wrong#sorry ik that wasnt super related to the post itself im just also passionate abt that#plagiarism#james somerton

I refuse to believe Oberon has abs. I refuse. That's not real. He's wearing one of those rubber cover shirts that cosplayers wear. He's casting a glamour over his concave torso with ribs you could play like a xylophone. I don't trust him and I don't trust his six pack. I know the truth. He's a WAIF. A mere WISP. He's a spindly little twink with a wasting disease. Get that six pack off of him it doesn't belong there!
#redirecting my rage so as not to devolve into insensitive remarks#if i think about summer chloe i WILL start saying some shit#so anyway. why'd they make oberon a twunk?#did they threaten you umino chika? did takeuchi coerce you? should we call for help?

Another funny thing about weird Decepticon stans trying to pretend that the Autobots were just as bad as them is that, in IDW1, the Autobots literally did not exist until Orion Pax stormed the Senate and delivered a speech claiming "Autobot" as a new label to mean "autonomous." Whereas all of the colonization during the Golden Age happened during Nova Prime's time a couple million years prior.
And during the war, the Decepticons were literally cyberforming planets they killed and had established something called the Interstellar Constellate at some point. And Megatron said in Chaos Theory that his plan for his Decepticon empire if/when he defeated the Autobots was to rebuild and cyberform planets to create a Decepticon empire where mechanical beings reign supreme.
Like, the BEST ARGUMENT you can make is that since Optimus is a Prime, he technically inherits the problematic nature of the Primacy's history of colonization, but I think that even that argument is pretty thin considering that Optimus was always pro-organic to the point of valuing their lives equally to Cybertronians, which is something that even a lot of Autobots fail to do. Compared to other members of his species, Optimus is literally a radical in terms of his stance that organic life = Cybertronian life, but go off I guess lmao.
You can even see that during the time of Sentinel's Senate, there was an engraving on the wall that said "freedom is the right of all civilized beings", showing that Optimus at some point took that phrase and changed it to underline the fact that freedom is a universal right for ALL beings.
Also, again for IDW1 specifically, a lot of anti-Optimus people clearly don't even know the timeline of events in that story. OP spent a good chunk of the story working against the Senate with things like
Storming the Senate on Megatron's behalf to deliver an angry speech against government corruption
Working with Senator Shockwave undercover to investigate Proteus being suspicious, uncovering a conspiracy to frame the Decepticons for a terrorist attack, and risking his team to prevent it
Going on the run and doing secret operations like saving hotspots from being attacked by Sentinel's forces
(For bonus points, he even saved Drift from dying either by drug overdose or being beaten to death by some thugs and called an emergency transport for him to Ratchet's clinic)
The regime change happens because Sentinel Prime is killed BY MEGATRON who at that point had already become a gladiator criminal underworld. By the time Orion is back in Iacon acting as Zeta's head of security/general/etc, Megatron is already well on the path of corruption and senseless violence doing things like arranging illegal weapon trafficking (shown in Optimus Prime) and forcing Rumble and Frenzy to get frame reformats to fit Megatron's tactical needs (Megatron Origin). Apparently Optimus doesn't deserve to have facts about his backstory and difficult contexts around his decisions be observed by this fandom though lmao.
If you take IDW1 out of context and go "OP worked for the regime!" then yeah of course it looks bad, and yes he did do that. But a lot of people also neglect to mention 1. the anti-government actions he DID take 2. the fact that by the time OP started fighting against Megatron, he had already become super evil and 3. because Megatron was super evil, Orion couldn't just desert Zeta's government and be like, "oh yeah I'll totally be able to talk Megatron out of doing terrorism and violence just on my own" especially since in this continuity they barely fuckin' knew each other before OP became a Prime. There's so much shit around OP being a cop and the ways he did or didn't succeed in trying to change the planet for the better, but none of that is addressed when people just go "oh he's a cop and the Autobots are colonizers" like ????? Stop it.
Stop taking this shit out of context and stop cherrypicking evidence to make one side look good and the other side look bad lmao.
#squiggposting#discourse#i regret to inform you all that i have been forced to witness this particular discourse again#like i'm sorry but in terms of idw1 specifically if you try to say that 'the autobots did colonialism too' you are straight up wrong#there is some weird shit in there though where autobot was coined by orion#but also for some reason sentinel's forces are called autobots???? it's really fuckin weird JRO why did you do that#but i ignore that part bc it makes no sense and it requires too much conjecture#i guess you could also try to claim that the regime used the autobot insignia therefore the autobots are the regime but like#i feel like that's basically the equivalent of the country's flag and a specific political party incorporating that flag into their own ban#the weird shit with the autobot name/insignia isn't the first contradictory or confusing lore JRO has written#so i feel at license to basically ignore that part#but anyways. the idw1 autobots didn't do colonialism and the decepticons did. sorry#that being said anyone who genuinely tries to pass moral judgment on decepticon stans just for liking decepticons#is an annoying ass anti and a bitch ass#i'm just begging ppl that just bc antis are annoying doesn't mean you should also be annoying#and you shouldn't devolve into cherrypicking canon or turning things black and white as well

do you believe Bruce is emotionally abusive? ik fans prioritise physical abuse and ultimately ignore emotional abuse tactics like parentification etc because it’s not “that bad”. I don’t believe Dick ever resents Bruce for letting him be robin (he’s grateful for it) , but in ntt he mostly resents him for being emotionally closed off, and rejecting him as a partner. Bruce worries for his kids safety so he pushes the whole “if you’re not perfect you’re dead” mentality onto Dick which ultimately is harmful to him. He’ll never regret being a hero but the rift between the two isn’t just a “we want different things” scenario but more that they’re incapable of giving the other what they want.
bruce being emotionally closed off from dick is what’s revisionist about that version of canon though. i think bruce can be bad at communicating sometimes esp when he’s deeply pained (like in knightfall, for example) but for the most part he and dick are shown to have great communication for decades before new teen titans and the adjacent post crisis starlin canon starts to rewrite that dynamic into something else entirely. per that version of canon i do believe he’s emotionally abusive but it’s not a version of canon i particularly appreciate bc it requires overriding the dynamic they had previously where they could certainly be prone to disagree at times but bruce was nonetheless willing to have an open and understanding conversation with dick about whatever the disagreement was. even the whole idea that bruce is responsible for dick believing that he has to be perfect or he has to be dead is one that new teen titans cements (or that issue of batman where bruce makes dick quit and jason is introduced thereafter)
i get that it’s easy to take new teen titans as gospel bc it is in essence the textbook source for dick but i think there should be some awareness too of how it twists that relationship between them and not necessarily for the better. i’m not opposed to bruce having faults he has to answer for. i absolutely agree he’s not cognizant enough of the complexes dick develops as a result of wanting to be seen as an equal, and thereby can’t realize the effect it has on dick for him to still be protective and fearful even if it’s ultimately out of goodwill and love. and there’s also the fact that even if he gives dick the space he desires to lead his own life it doesn’t mean he should be hesitant to reach out bc he’s afraid he’ll overstep by doing so, as a parent he should reaffirm his love for dick regularly regardless of knowing he might get some pushback bc dick is growing into his own (again, knightfall is a really superb example of this). but i also think those are tensions you can wholeheartedly explore without rendering bruce into a controlling and abusive figure, and i’m not sure who it benefits to write bruce as such in the long run
some of dick’s problems have to be his own, and he’ll never escape bruce’s shadow if the only source point of issues in his life is his relationship with bruce. that’s something i would actually apply to the robins at large. hardly any of them are allowed to explore problems entirely unique to themselves and i think that’s in large part bc writers simultaneously portray a mildly to explicitly abusive bruce at their leisure while refusing to ever actually address the elephant in the room that is literally of their own creation. a lot of people believe the bruce shouldn’t be an abuser argument is framed entirely as a resistance to bruce’s character assassination and for me i can admit that’s part of it, but a more pertinent part of it should also be the fact that bruce being written as an abuser is what truly chains his children to him forever to the point that they can never grow beyond that abuse bc writers refuse to allow them to. imagine the problems the robins could be addressing individually in their lives if not everything came down to them being fucked up bc that’s the way bruce raised them or failed to thereby. there’s a lot about the robins as individuals that’s deeply interesting and i think it’s not just a disservice to bruce but to them as well to write the relationships this way bc it obscures their own agency and ability to be explored for more than a haunted legacy narrative
#sry this is so very long. please know it is not me venting at you i simply have many thoughts 😭#but yeah like i think something that gets lost in translation is like. i absolutely do think those portrayals of bruce are abusive#i simply don’t think he should have been portrayed as such to begin with#starlin era bruce is very bewildering for me in all honesty i dislike it deeply#the issue where dick meets jason is one of my least favorite for the way it portrays bruce it feels so out of character for me#considering bruce was more than happy for dick to go off to college or to find his own place with the titans#and even with that famous issue where dick meets bruce after learning jason has died the writing is quite odd to me#i think bruce is very much someone who directs blame and frustration inward as opposed to outward#he’ll let himself get dog walked if he thinks he deserves it. which i think knightfall illustrates fabulously#the beginning of no man’s land as well#what i don’t think he would ever do is lash out at others when he knows the blame lies with himself. bruce is very self critical#so honestly that whole scene in the cave with him and dick. doesn’t exist to me i would literally rewrite it 😭#and i think it is very significant that wolfman chose to recreate that slap three times if memory serves while every other write in bat#editorial at the time straight up ignored it and acted like it never happened. like idk that plus the way bruce was characterized during#knightfall to me says a lot about how that was not supposed to be the status quo at all#anyway. sorry this has devolved into a whole other rant please do not mind me 😔#outbox

You know...
The vague posting and reblogs in the LS fandom aimed at invalidating people and their thoughtful and specific critiques about aspects of season 4 are a Choice™️.
How about having a little empathy for the folks who are disappointed and managing their sadness? What about constructive discourse and concrete explanations about how you think the writing holds up rather than dismissing those who don’t agree? Because it's not a few of us with these thoughts, there are many of us.
I don't know if y'all have noticed, but this fandom has lost a lot of content creators in the last year (especially in the last 3 months) because the inspiration in canon is lacking. It's not a matter of folks being unable to differentiate between fanon and canon. As an individual who can analyze and think critically about the media I'm consuming, I can respect when canon tells me something different from a headcanon—especially when the execution is sound—and many others who feel a certain way about this season are able to do so as well.
I really don’t care about convincing anyone of anything. If this season works for you, it works for you. Keep on keeping on. What is upsetting is seeing how the disagreement over the direction of season 4 for certain characters has led to attempts at gatekeeping and discrediting people who dare to voice a critique on their blog.
If the only way to justify your disagreeing stance is to criticize people and question their ability to be objective thinkers, you’re standing on shaky ground.
#don't even get me started on the anon asks#deep sigh#i used to love it here#so much for community#i sat down with an open mind and gave the episode my time#i tried#the marjan plot was good#really well-done#but for me the writing is not nailing the landing when it comes to carlos/tarlos#once again#it's not the content itself#it's the choice to execute these plot points now#and not adapt them accordingly so things don't feel so OOC#the emotional narrative of their relationship arc is devolving#i should not be thinking yeah maybe they should wait on the wedding#idk what else to say 🤷🏽♀️#y'all know you don't work for the show right-- it's a battlefield out here#some of you are so focused on keeping your bubble intact#that you’re ending friendships over it?#over disagreements on a tv show?#you know this show is going to end eventually right?#911 lone star fandom negativity#911 lone star negative discourse#911 lone star#that thing you queue

Denying one’s own suffering is not noble!!! It’s stupid. Being honest about actual factual bad things being done to you and yours does not mean you have to wholesale cast out acknowledging the suffering of others!
#this whole thing getting devolved into a hushing up ‘um everyone just needs to get along tho’ when we should acknowledge the full deck#is starting to grate on my patience…i do not care about the opinions of some stupid dipshit ass morons#and reject whatever nonsense they say#but can we at least TALK about the absolute state of trans gender politics online and literally irl from EVERYONE

another day, another reminder that kpopies don't give a flying fuck about anything, not even their precious idols. Because genuinely, if you actually love someone, you will care if they do something wrong. Not because you don't want them to get in trouble but because love also means caring enough about someone to hold them accountable.
It's so fucking dehumanising to not only try and absolve a whole fucking adult woman of her wrong doing but to then see her acknowledge and apologise for that wrong doing and STILL try and make her out to be the good guy in the situation. What???? Chaeyoung is a human being that did something wrong, not our precious uwu "wuv of ouw life" angel or whatever tf these people seem to think. You can stan someone and criticise them. In fact if you stan someone you have more reason to hold them accountable
I get saying that she genuinely might not have known. Gonna use my life experience as an example cause while SK is def more "developed" than Uganda but I think in terms of how our cultures have been influenced by the west we have some similarities in this aspect. The only reason I know what a Swatsika even means really is because being a queer nerd I kind of grew up on the internet and exposed myself to a lot of stuff. Most people my age have an idea of what it is in relation to nazism yes but they either don't care enough to know why it's a hate symbol or they just hand wave it cause the little we do learn about nazism in international schools at least is very detached for lack of a better word. The holocaust in our history class was treated more like "One of the bad things Hitler did" than an actual serious fucking genocide that has serious ramifications even today. Even the way Hitler was discussed was more like "Wow what a bad dude lmao" instead of actually highlighting all the vile shit he did to so many groups of people. And this is just international schools, I guarantee that our local curriculum gives even less of a fuck. If people downplay the meaning of that symbol in places where Jews and other affected people literally live and constantly raise awareness imagine places like Africa and Asia where a lot of our "good education" is either recycled bullshit from the west or so steeped in nationalist propaganda that it doesn't consider the fact that other people and cultures exist in this world.
I'm genuinely not surprised that a lot of Korean and other Asian peeps are like "No but it means something in our religion" and yes that's true and not a lot of people know that despite there being reclamation efforts. But if that means something for you that doesn't mean that it's still not HEAVILY associated with hate
I say all this to say that there's a difference between saying "Chae might not have known what that symbol means" and "it's perfectly okay that she posted that stop attacking her". By the time some rando nobody like me could take the time to learn (and keep learning cause ofc I don't know everything) this stuff despite living in a place where no one gives af it is very possible to learn lmao and Chae should fucking learn. If she didn't know then okay, let her know now that this has happened. Don't pretend it didn't happen. Don't erase the harm that this has caused. If you don't give af then good for you stfu and let the people who do speak, you can leave in your weirdo bubble or whatever but just stfu
#I think I need to get off twitter now#i was trying to stay up to date on the situation but it's really devolved into some assholes saying shit like:#'but she apologised we should stop talking about this'#or complaining that talking about it will hurt twice's image#I hate kpopies sigh#gonna go cook now lmao it's coming to 9 pm

answering a couple questions i got on this post since i realized ppl genuinely wanna know:
tl;dr:
israel lets very, very little aid get into gaza. even the UN can't get in as much as they want to. funding individual families, gazan led initiatives, and mutual aid collectives operating out of gaza ensures gazans can provide for themselves and pay for the extremely expensive aid that is available.
with all the civil infrastructure destroyed by israel, the situation on the ground has devolved into unrestricted capitalism, driving up the price of aid (that should be free!). this makes it more urgent for people to have funding for daily survival.
the post linked above has examples of how donating to individual families can help a lot. if you want to help more than one family at a time, there are many gazan-led initiatives focusing on rebuilding their infrastructure and distributing aid fairly that are worth donating to instead of large charities that already get the majority of donations.
as i mentioned in the last post: @/careforgaza on twitter is a nonprofit started by gazans, it's been endorsed by multiple palestinian journalists.
the sameer project is a collective organized by diaspora palestinians offering emergency shelter to gazans.
ele elna elak is a project aiming to bring water, food, shelter, etc. to gazans and has been promoted by bisan owda.
and the municipality of gaza itself is fundraising to rebuild water infrastructure.
all of these organizations are active inside gaza right now and are being run by gazans. if anyone knows of other gazan-led mutual aid projects, nonprofits or charities feel free to link them in the notes! hope this helped!
long answers under the cut!
if you wanna donate to a charity that's absolutely fine, but the thing is most charities (and even the UN!) are unable to make it into gaza in the first place, leaving aid rotting at the egyptian side of the border or subject to israeli settler attacks
not to mention, charities and nonprofits also maintain a paternalistic colonial relationship with the indigenous people they are trying to help, determining what aid they need for them instead of returning power to them and letting them make their own choices
i'm not here to say that one option is better than the other, just that they achieve different things and are equally legitimate. there's an attitude among people who question the legitimacy of these gofundme campaigns that somehow the people promoting them are telling them not to donate to charities. nobody is stopping you from donating to charities. we are just asking that you do not dehumanize the very real gazans in your inbox just because their method of asking for aid is more direct and risky.
unfortunately that's exactly what has happened. because israel destroyed all of gaza's more formalized infrastructure, it seems that organized crime and rampant inflation has taken its place. aid is supposed to be free, but in order to save for evacuation or the cost of living, people have started selling them at an inflated price. and aid that is truly free attracts intense, large crowds that are dangerous to navigate.
this was posted on abc a few days ago
it's pure, unrestrained capitalism. i've had multiple palestinians describe this situation to me confidence. that's why everything's so expensive now. why people have to rent out tiny plots of land for their tents to sit on, why my friend @siraj2024 still has to buy tarps to cover the broken windows of the overpriced bombed out apartment he rented, and why a bag of flour can cost a thousand bucks in the north.
even before israel closed and then bombed the rafah crossing, the egyptian hala travel agency was only allowing people to cross the border if they paid a hefty $5000 USD per adult / $2500 USD per child bribe. it denies doing this, but the hundreds of stories from palestinians say otherwise.
with regard to the economy, here in america we saw something similar happen in the wake of hurricane helene and milton. the podcaster margaret killjoy describes how she saw dual economies rise after asheville was fully cut off from the rest of the country - some people offered each other supplies for free in a sort of mutual aid honor system, and some people required payment when they lent supplies because they themselves needed to buy stuff for their families. these dual economies exist in gaza too. and this means they all still need money to survive.

#do you ever get the feeling you are influencing people but like in subtext somehow?#like this is the second time just this year where like#i have been ranting and rambling about something in the tags of related posts on here#only to like a few days or weeks later start seeing posts with my 'talking points' show up on my dash#but like filtered from other parts of the internet where i don't go?#and involving such disparate topics and contexts to where i'm like: am i just somehow aggregating#the general direction things are going out if random tumblr posts and thin air via idk intuition?#because i swear these are not points i'd seen put forward elsewhere that i brought up as tags#this was stuff i was feeling ranty about and wanted to get off my chest#one was fandom related: i started yelling about getting jimin on the radio back in the spring#then his slbum hits and while the song releasing to radio only makes sense actually#the fandom push for it and the sudden renewed interest in guiding fans to request and push for radio play were ?????#and then this thing with the campaign about it's okay to lie about your vote#like that stuff obviously has to have been in the works for a while to get made and released#but i hadn't seen anything at all about it before a week or so ago and the tag rant on a random political post about#how people who say they're not voting for a reason are the same as people who don't vote out of laziness or not caring#which devolved into a ramble about just vote and say you didn't then if all that matters to you is performative image#because no one is going to see your vote no one will know how you voted#you can just lie#and now i keep seeing post after post about the campaign embracing this concept#and the outrage about *that* and it HAS to be confirmation bias but it really feels#like i whispered my tags into the ear of some staffer and they said yeah that's a good point#we should remind people they can vote however they really feel and then just say whatever#they think mskes them look good or will keep them safe because in the end only the vote matters#at the end of the day#weird weird feeling but probably just somehow sensing some ways the wind is about to change right?#the pricking of the thumbs#man anonymity really is a concept thst people are increasingly unfamiliar with if we have reassure people like this huh

If you don't know me well and you've heard my opinions abt people talking shit, I probably seem like the person that enjoys talking shit about others. To which the truth of the matter is that I don't. Tbh, I feel I do something worse. When I talk about a person to someone else, I break them down from the bottom up by analyzing what makes them so irritating, but also what makes them so great, and I share that analysis with the person I'm talking to. It quickly escalates to bringing up a person's personal issues, traumas, insecurities, etc, and analyzing them under a lens.
#rambles#sometimes if people are really lucky i'll share my analyses with the person themselves#that's really fun#oh how i would love someone to do this to me#or if someone did this to me behind my back i'd hope the person they talked to shares their findings with me#one thing thats true abt me is that i always treat people the way i dont mind getting treated (even if they dont like it)#but my opinion of talking shit is like.....#the line between talking shit and venting can get extremely thin#tell me this#your friend has a coworker that is constantly causing problems for your friend. this person is friendly but utterly incompetent#this coworker piles more work to do on your friend's already stressful job. added onto this this coworker always lies to sound competent#your friend cannot stand their coworker. they can't stand listening to this person or even hearing them breathe#everyday they vent about them to the point that it devolves into getting irritated over the tiniest things#here's the question. is your friend talking shit or are they venting?#are they a bad person for getting so irate?#the thing with talking shit and venting is that regardless of what is said it will always be hurtful to the person talked about#but also sometimes there are very good reasons why a person may get upset and feel the need to vent all the time#should we operate under the fantastical belief to always see the good in everyone and accept everything they do?#should we act like we should always like everyone we talk to and never speak bad about them?#is it wrong to share these charged feelings with someone you trust that would never share it with others?#should you feel upset when people feel the need to vent about you?#or do you think theyre talking shit behind your back?#do you expect everyone to like every aspect about you? and that they should share every gripe they have abt you?#tbh i dont care what ppl say abt me 'behind my back' bc no doubt i do things that bother them#i don't view them as a bad person for doing that#granted there are verified shit talkers and..... ngl those people are fascinating#no doubt toxic but also kinda refreshing to be around? they're very honest but also very.... accurate?#they can point out your deepest insecurity in a second#you can learn a lot abt the human psyche through observing them#theyre the kinds of people whose actions and lifestyle i dont condone but in short spurts theyre pretty fun
